TVXQ!: One of the Groups to have Beaten the 7-year Jinx

From HOT until EXO, TVXQ, which debuted in 2003, is a group that continued SM Entertainment’s tradition of top groups. TVXQ enjoyed a kind of popularity around their debut that was like a “Syndrome”. If there are those that cannot recall those times, then try thinking of how the response for their juniors in the same agency, EXO, has been.

There was also a bad period when, having sized the opportunity of being one of Asia’s top groups, Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu had a dispute with the agency, which concluded in their withdrawal from the team. However, even after that, U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin continued to protect the team name of TVXQ. Before TVXQ became the first Korean domestic group to perform on Red & White Song Battle {t/n: Japan’s prestigious Kohaku year-end show}, they held a concert at Tokyo Dome and so on, solidifying their robust position overseas; building on the momentum even after their team re-grouping and continuing to receive the love of many domestic and overseas fans. With the release of new songs, such as ‘Catch Me’, ‘Something’ and so on, their unchanged potential was displayed. In addition, the special album that was released before their enlistment ‘Rise As God’, had sales of 150,000 copies even without any special activities, hammering home their popularity.

Currently, U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin are in the middle of serving their enlistment, with U-Know Yunho due to be discharged in April 2017, and Choikang Changmin, in August respectively.
